Wombat Room (2–3 years)
Our Wombat Room offers a stimulating, engaging, and supportive environment where toddlers are encouraged to explore, connect, and develop a strong sense of independence. At this stage of development, we focus on building children’s confidence, communication, and social skills, while supporting their growing curiosity about the world around them.
Our team includes two Early Childhood Teachers (with one currently working in a Diploma role), an experienced Diploma-qualified educator, a Certificate III educator working towards her Diploma, and a dedicated trainee. This highly skilled and diverse team provides consistent, responsive care and works collaboratively to support each child’s individual development and wellbeing.

We recognise that toddlers are active learners who thrive through exploration and connection. Children are encouraged to actively explore, experiment, and take safe risks within their environment, supporting their developing autonomy and problem-solving skills. Through consistent, trusting relationships with educators and peers, children build a strong sense of belonging and begin to understand their role within a community.
Our environment is thoughtfully designed with a range of learning areas, including creative arts, construction, home corner, library, and quiet spaces. These spaces support different types of play and allow children to move freely between experiences, follow their interests, and engage in both active and restful play.

Our educational program is play-based and responsive to each child’s strengths, interests, and developmental stage. Educators use intentional teaching strategies to support language development, social communication, emotional regulation, and early problem-solving skills. Through experiences such as messy play, music and movement, group interactions, and imaginative play, children are supported to express themselves, build relationships, and develop confidence in their abilities.
We celebrate each child’s achievements and support their growing independence through daily routines and meaningful interactions. The Wombat Room is a place where children feel safe to explore, take risks, form friendships, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
