About Us
Established in August 1989, Belmont Community Child Care Centre has been part of the lives of local children and families for over 36 years. As a not-for-profit, community-based service, we’ve grown alongside our community—building strong relationships, shared trust, and a reputation for providing high-quality early childhood education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.
We are proud to hold an Exceeding rating in six areas of the National Quality Standard, but what matters most to us is what that looks like each day—children who feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
You’ll see our connection to the community in the way we work alongside families, local schools, health professionals, and support services. These partnerships aren’t just part of what we do—they shape the way we support each child, creating a strong sense of belonging for both children and their families.
Our approach to learning is thoughtful, responsive, and grounded in real moments. Our educators design environments that invite curiosity, creativity, and exploration, while still feeling calm, predictable, and welcoming. There’s a balance here—spaces that inspire children to engage and discover, alongside quiet moments for connection, rest, and reflection. Sustainability is also part of our everyday practice, woven naturally into experiences and routines.
At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: every child has the right to feel safe, respected, and truly known. We are committed to creating a strong child safe culture, where children’s wellbeing, dignity, and voices are prioritised in every interaction. Children are supported to feel confident, to express themselves, and to actively participate in their world.
You’ll notice the difference in the way our educators work with children. With educator-to-child ratios above recommended standards, we are able to be present—building genuine relationships, engaging in meaningful conversations, and supporting children’s learning in a way that is intentional and responsive.

Our team is one of our greatest strengths. Alongside our highly qualified educators, we are proud of the long-standing commitment of many of our team members, with several educators having been with us for over 10 years and one for more than 25 years. This continuity creates a sense of familiarity, trust, and stability for children and families.
We are also supported by a consistent group of casual educators who are well known to the children and team, ensuring continuity of care even when regular educators are away. Many of our educators begin their journey with us as trainees, growing their careers within our service and contributing to a strong, connected team culture.
Our connection to the community spans generations. It is not uncommon for families to return to Belmont, with parents who once attended as children now choosing to enrol their own children—drawn back by the positive memories, relationships, and sense of belonging they experienced here.
Being a not-for-profit service is central to who we are. It means that every decision we make is guided by what is best for children and families—not profit. Any surplus funds are reinvested back into the centre, supporting our environments, resources, and the ongoing development of our educators. You’ll see this in the quality of our spaces, the consistency of our team, and the care taken in the experiences we provide.
This is further strengthened by our active Parent Committee, who work alongside our leadership team to help guide the direction of the centre. Families have a genuine voice in decision-making, contributing ideas, perspectives, and feedback that shape how we grow and improve. This shared approach creates a strong sense of ownership and connection—where families are not just part of the centre, but part of shaping it.
Child Safety Commitment
We are a Child Safe organisation, and this is embedded in everything we do—not just in policy, but in practice.
Child safety is reflected in the way we supervise, interact, and create environments where children feel secure and respected. It’s in the conversations we have, the relationships we build, and the way we listen to and value children’s voices.
We actively embed the NSW Child Safe Standards through:
- consistent and attentive supervision
- child safe recruitment, training, and professional conduct
- strong partnerships with families
- safe and intentional use of digital technologies
Our goal is simple—every child who walks through our doors feels safe, supported, and confident to be themselves.
