Emu Room For 3-4 years

Our 3-4 year old Preschool program is co-led by 2 experienced Early Childhood Teachers and 2 experienced Diplomas and a Trainee studying their Certificate 3. The children within the Emu room are engaged in a wide range of learning experiences, encompassing a variety of both small and large group times, individual discovery learning and social interactions alongside peers throughout the entire day. These social relationships are vital for future life skills and building resilience in the children.

  • Wide variety of learning experiences
  • Creative arts, drawing, library and block & construction spaces
  • Indoor and outdoor quiet and secluded spaces to encourage time alone or to develop friendships with peers
  • Shared outdoor playground

Specialised learning areas

The Emu room encompasses different learning areas such as a creative arts space, drawing area, library, home corner, block and construction spaces as well as quiet and secluded areas both inside and outside that encourage time to be alone or develop friendships with peers.

Diverse environment

The environment celebrates children, as it offers space, natural materials, choice and flexibility – it enriches the idea of building awareness of diversity.

Self-help skills

Self-help skills are encouraged in an environment that allows children to feel powerful and competent, enabling for smooth transitions to the independence needed for their later school environment and for younger children to have the opportunity to learn from their peers in a safe and predictable manner.

Playground

The children in the Emu room share the outdoor playground with our 2-3 yrs room and also have opportunities to be part of our older preschool yard for specific times of the day.
