Emu Room

for 3 - 4 year olds
  • Our 3-4 yrs. Preschool program is co-led by and experienced Early Childhood Teacher and Diploma qualified Educator stand  is supported by highly qualified and are supported by 2 experienced Diplomas and a Trainee studying her Certificate 3.

    The children within the Emu room are engaged in a wide range of learning experiences, encompassing a variety of both small and large group times, individual discovery learning and social interactions alongside peers throughout the entire day. These social relationships are vital for future life skills and building resilience in the children.

      The Emu room encompasses different learning areas such as a creative arts space, drawing area, library, home corner, block and construction spaces as well as quiet and secluded areas both inside and outside that encourage time to be alone or develop friendships with peers.

    • Self-help skills

      Self-help skills are encouraged in an environment that allows children to feel powerful and competent, enabling for smooth transitions to the independence needed for their later school environment and for younger children to have the opportunity to learn from their peers in a safe and predictable manner.

      The environment celebrates children, as it offers space, natural materials, choice and flexibility – it enriches the idea of building awareness of diversity.

    • Playground

      The children in the Emu room share the outdoor playground with our 2-3 yrs room and also have opportunities to be part of our older preschool yard for specific times of the day.
